General
What is MentionGo?
MentionGo is a verified network for Malaysian legal professionals. Advocates delegate short procedural appearances to verified peers (Mention-on-Behalf), and firms engage vetted service agents to deliver court documents.
Who can join?
Advocates and solicitors of the High Court of Malaya or the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak holding a valid Sijil Tahunan. Firms register through a firm administrator. Service agents apply separately and are vetted before their first job.
Which courts are covered?
Court hubs follow the Malaysian Judiciary e-Filing System list: the High Courts of Malaya, Sessions Courts, and Magistrates' Courts throughout Malaysia, together with appellate registries such as Putrajaya.
Does MentionGo cost anything to join?
Registration and verification are free. MentionGo charges no commission on the fixed fee between the parties.
For Advocates
What kinds of appearances can be delegated?
Short procedural appearances: case management, mentions, directions hearings, and similar registrar matters. Trials and contested hearings are outside the scope of the platform.
How is my Sijil Amalan verified?
You upload your Sijil Tahunan at registration. An administrator checks it against the Malaysian Bar records before your account is activated, and re-checks it at renewal.
What if I cannot attend after accepting?
Release the matter as early as possible so the instructing solicitor can re-post it. A failure to appear after acceptance without notice is recorded and may lead to a strike.
How do I get paid?
The fee is fixed before acceptance and settled by direct bank transfer between the instructing and attending solicitors. The receipt is uploaded to the matter record.
What if there is a dispute?
Raise a dispute on the matter record. Administrators review the appearance notes, receipts, and correspondence, and may issue warnings or strikes. Three strikes remove an account from the network.
For Firms
How does my firm post a mention?
A firm administrator or clerk posts the matter with the court hub, hearing date, case category, and fee. Only verified advocates can accept it.
Can we control who accepts our matters?
You see the accepting advocate's verification status, firm, and peer rating before the matter is locked. Matters can be reposted if an acceptance falls through.
How do we request service of documents?
Post a service job with the documents, the service address, the deadline, and the fee. A verified agent accepts, serves, and uploads the Affidavit or Statement of Service for your review.
For Service Agents
How do I become a Service Agent?
Apply through the registration page with your identification and contact details. Administrators review the application before your account is activated.
What proof must I file after service?
The Affidavit or Statement of Service, together with any supporting evidence the firm requests, such as photographs or delivery notes. All of it is uploaded to the job record.
Am I engaged by MentionGo?
No. Jobs are engagements between the instructing firm and you. MentionGo provides the introduction, the record, and the receipt trail.
Privacy & Security
Is my data protected?
MentionGo is built to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Matter documents are stored privately, and access is limited to the parties on the matter and platform administrators.
Who can see the documents I upload?
Only the uploader, the matched party on the matter, and administrators. Files are served through expiring signed links and are never publicly listed.
Do I have to redact client details before posting?
Yes. Before a matter goes live you must confirm that client-identifying details not required for the appearance have been redacted. This is enforced on the platform.
How do I exercise my data protection rights?
Write to support@mentiongomy.com. We handle access, correction, and withdrawal requests under the PDPA, and complaints may be made to the Personal Data Protection Commissioner.
